Principal Mike Miliote recently released the school's logos, which incorporate the school's mascot, the wolves, along with the school's colors of orange and blue.

The brand new Ballantyne Ridge High School will welcome students for the first time in 11 days. The school at 4004 Toringdon Way is one of four major Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools building projects completed ahead of the 2024-25 school year.

To start, Ballantyne Ridge will have around 1700 students, but that does not include a senior class. Once all 4 grades are at full capacity, it will be around 2200 students total.

Four new public high schools hae opened in the last three years. Willow Spring and Seaforth opened in August of 2021, Palisades in 2022, and Southeast Alamance is opening this year. In scanning the counties from the mountains to the coast, there appear to be four high schools scheduled in the next four years.

The new Ballantyne Ridge High, opening in August, filled its 100 International Baccalaureate magnet seats and has 53 on the waiting list.
