New CMS high school Ballantyne Ridge reveals mascot, logo (2024)

In August, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools will open another new high school in South Charlotte: Ballantyne Ridge High.

Previously, the new school revealed that its colors will be orange, Carolina blue, and gray. In a Facebook post on Friday, the school revealed that the mascot will be the Wolves. On Wednesday, the school's football program made a post to X showing off the official logos and wordmarks.

The new school will open just two years after Palisades High School opened in 2022. The two campuses have been constructed to relieve overcrowding at the crowded high schools in the nearby area. Myers Park High, Ardrey Kell High, and South Mecklenburg High have each found themselves north of 3,000 students.

The school will be located on the ridge of the Ballantyne neighborhood, which is just north of the South Carolina border. The school's campus is triangulated between South Mecklenburg, Providence, and Ardrey Kell High Schools. The school will seemingly take the most from Ardrey Kell, which is just at 3.5 miles away.

Ballantyne Ridge's opening athletic director will be Jeff Smith.

Here are the official logos and wordmarks:
